DATE AND VENUE OF THE EVENT :
Introduction to Foss session was held on 23-05-2021 virtually from 11A.M to 12.30P.M , organized by GNU/Linux Users Group PESCE.

Students from various branches who participated in the session were 31 in number.
INITIALIZATIONS:
The session was held using a Foss video conferencing tool Jitsi. The session was live streamed and the participants were priorly provided with the link to join the live streaming of the session.
THE SESSION:
Session was started by 11 AM with an activity. The game of tic-tac-toe was played initially along with the participants leading to the basics of software like source code , programs etc.
Softwares and different types of softwares were explained along with their differences and with a descriptive presentation throughout the session.
The four freedoms of free and open-source software were explained. Along with this the major advantages and features which drives us to prefer Foss over different types of softwares were described.
Not only about Foss, the session also focused on open-source hardware. It’s history , current trends and opportunities using open-source hardware were also being discussed.
The details regarding GNU/Linux and the also about GNU , Linux , history and philosophy of free softwares ,Free software movement, FSMI , FSMK were addressed.
Then followed by the activities , events, competitions and contributions of GLUG-PESCE , feedbacks were received from participants.
Registration details to join GLUG were given to the participants at conclusion.
The session was successful in imparting knowledge about Foss and its importance ,GLUG and its significance to the participants
